Writing

As mentioned on my “About” page, I am a writer, digital media producer, and audio/visual production specialist working in the growing world of “multimedia storytelling” — but my true passion is for the written word. I began writing at a very early age, writing and illustrated children’s books and entering them in the “Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest” back when I was 8 years old! My interest in writing was founded in my inclination for storytelling, and in my past work experience in the Advancement Office at Stonehill College, my work for the College of Arts, Media, & Design at Northeastern University, and in my freelance content writing, I have strived to tell the stories of numerous people and organizations working to better our society in one way or another. You will find samples of my writing below, and if you have any questions regarding my previous work or you are interested in commissioning me with a writing proposal or opportunity, please feel free to contact me through LinkedIn, email, or submit a request form through my “Contact” page!

‘The Band Played On’ In Your Backyard

This is a marketing write-up I did for the Friends of Ruth Gordon Amphitheater that I then sent on behalf of the organization to local news organizations, such as the Quincy Sun newspaper, which got published in their Thursday edition (as shown in this picture). The subject matter was New Orleans jazz performer, Glen David Andrews, was going to be performing at the historic Ruth Gordon Amphitheater in Quincy, MA, and in promotion of the event, I wrote up about the history of New Orleans jazz, how the talented Glen David Andrews was continuing the tradition of authentic New Orleans music, and how the reader of this article would be able to see Glen David Andrews perform for free at the Ruth Gordon Amphitheater with details on the event. This was a great joy for me to write, as I am a jazz music connoisseur myself, and a lover of all genres of music, and my aim is always to support artists and local non-profit organizations!

“CAMD Policy for Equipment”

In my role as Lab/Support Coordinator to the Media Center, part of the Media Studio Organization (MSO) for Northeastern University’s College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD), one of my first writing contributions to the team as a full-time staff member was to make improvements to the Media Center’s public policy documents, specifically to enact a new policy of charging late fees to student accounts when equipment became overdue by one business day or more.
